St Edmunds is a church where we hope you will find something for you, whatever your age or church going background.

8.00 am   Holy Communion         
10.00am Service of the Word   10.00 am Parish Communion 
11.15am Mattins  
6.30 pm Holy Communion   6.30 pm Choral Evensong

5th Sunday in the Month    Two services will be held - 8.00 am Holy Communion and 10.00 am Holy Communion - both alternating between St.Matthews and St.Edmunds. Look out for specific details in the appropriate magazine and service sheets.

  • 8.00 am Holy Communion

A traditional spoken service from the Book of Common Prayer.

Plenty of quiet time and space for reflection.

There is sometimes a short sermon.

The Service lasts about 30 minutes

 

  • 10.00a.m. Holy Communion

A modern language Holy Communion service (Common Worship)

With hymns and a short address.

A warm and welcoming service for all ages.

Children have their own activities for most of the service (see Seekers)

The service lasts about an hour and is followed by coffee in the nearby church hall

 

  • 10.00am All Age Service

A lively inclusive service for people of all ages

For those unfamiliar with church, this may be good place to start

Children are especially welcome.

A variety of formats are used and a small music group helps to lead the service.

The service lasts about 45 minutes and is followed by coffee in the nearby church hall and activities for children.

 

  • 11.15am Mattins /Holy Communion

A traditional service from the Book of Common Prayer

It is led by our talented robed choir.

The service lasts about an hour

 

  • 6.30 pm Evensong

A traditional service from the Book of Common Prayer

Combines the best of traditional words with hymns, anthems, a sermon and prayers. The service lasts about one hour.

  • 6.30 pm Choral Evensong

A service of choral music with no sermon.
